These
projects will be similar to the projects that UCT has been working
on during 2007:
The "Make
Jesus Smile" Shoe-Box Project.
 |
United Caribbean Trust has a
deep desire to be an expression of the love of Christ on earth,
bringing hope last year to children in Haiti and Dominica
responding to meet the holistic needs of the child –
physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Sunday Schools have become involved, seen
here the little ones from Abundant
Life. Well done

| What a joy to visit Suriname
with the Make Jesus Smile shoe box project in April 2008.
These beautiful Bush
Negroes had a wonderful time as they received
their gifts packed by the children of Barbados. |

|
|
As the shoe boxes were distributed
the children were photographed and documented to help establish
the Suriname
Child Sponsorship Program.

The "Kisses
from Heaven" T-shirts.
Designed
and hand painted by the school children of Barbados giving
them an opportunity to sow a seed of love into the lives of
the children in Africa and to look beyond their own borders.
Poems, prayers, colouring books, greetings cards and other
exciting tokens of their love can be made for the children
in the program. This will be a part of the Compassion Project
for KidsGames.
Another activity that we envisage being a part of the Amazing
Grace's child outreach program. |

|
| Already we are looking ahead to
the Christmas 2008 programme and we are targeting 2000 shoeboxes
to leave the island for various parts of the Caribbean, Central
and South America.. |
|
 |
To make this a long term effort
we are seeking to introduce a Child Sponsorship Programme
into the schools working with organizations such as the Inter
School Christian Fellowship, the Cubs and Brownies, Son Shine
Club etc |
Another warehouse space is needed
for the
Imagine
me Healthy Natural Juice Project.
To fund the project we wish
to supply the school and Summer Camps with the fresh, frozen
Natural Fruit
and Vegetables Juices of the season.
Not only will this be a healthy alternative
for the children of Barbados but a large percentage of the
profit will go towards helping the Child
Sponsorship Programme.
Barbados is unable to supply sufficient fruit
for a project of this size but Guyana and Dominica are perfectly
positioned to supply all our needs. As the Amazing Grace travels
between these countries fruit pulp could be collected and
the Imagine me ... Healthy fruit juices could be packaged
and prepared to be distributed into schools in Barbados and
other islands such as Trinidad, Antigua and Grenada. |
 |
The founder of UCT, Jenny Tryhane has recently returned
from a visit to Guyana and has been establishing contacts with the
Ministry of Agriculture in Guyana to partner with a fruit pulp factory.
Fresh fruit & vegetable juices have been shown
to possess remarkable health-promoting properties and have been
used for centuries to help treat a range of ailments. <
