#25th week of our Journey – Creation of Water - First Birth

This week’s destination: Creation of water - MAN'S FIRST BIRTH

MATERIALS: Seven empty tissue paper boxes Plain white wrapping paper, the 7 creation number signs found in Visual Aid Manual. Glue, crayons. Three signs (Father; Son; Holy Spirit) to teach Sword Play and skit. Rope, bottle, cookie, balloon (Red)

AS KIDS ARRIVE PRIOR TO THE LESSON:
Welcome Teacher/Trainers, Trainers and students. Get the children to colour the 7 creation number signs and stick them on the Creation blocks.

1. WELCOME GAME: (10 minutes) Play the Creation Song as the children play this game. Mix up the Creation blocks and tell the children you will need their help to put the blocks back in order. Have the blocks facing the children so that they can see the pictures and numbers. Begin telling the creation story and ask the children to listen carefully for key words that will help them put the blocks back in order. This activity will help the children understand that God is the Creator of all things, understand on a basic level the seven days of creation.

2. TEAM GAMES: (10 minutes)
Divide the class into two equal teams. Have one member of team’ A’ say their name and something from the story of Creation that begins with the same letter of their name. Then one member of team’ B’ If a child cannot think of anything they are ‘out’

DR Congo: For example:

Child says her name is Laura and God created 'Léger'
Child says her name is Chéckina and God created 'Le ciel'
Child says his name is Franck and God created 'Fleurs'
Child says his name is Cardin and God created 'Chats'
Child says his name is Mamadou and God created 'Mouton'

Haitian:For example:

Child says her name is Lovelie and God created 'Limyè'
Child says her name is Stevenson and God created 'Syèl'
Child says his name is Peterson and God created 'Pye bwa'
Child says her name is Chedeline and God created 'Chat'
Child says her name is Madeline and God created 'Mouton'

3. ACTIVE PRAISE CHORUS: (10 minutes)
The 7 day creation song (Use Music video and lyrics found in the Visual Aid Manual)

4. INTIMATE WORSHIP: (5 minutes)
Father of Creation (Use Music video and lyrics found in the Visual Aid Manual)

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you that by Your Word the heavens were made. By Your Spirit life begun, by the wisdom of our Lord Your laws were laid. By Your love you sent your Son Jesus Christ and by Your Grace we are saved. By the power of our Lord the victory has been won. Thank you Jesus Amen.

5. TEACHING:
a. “Back Track”
Baptism of Jesus (Use teaching video)

b. Sword Play (Give each child a Sword Play track to take home)
Ready…Swords up… Genesis 1:26a … CHARGE
GOD said “let US (Father; Son; Holy Spirit ) make man kind in OUR (Father; Son; Holy Spirit) image (resemblance), in our likeness (characteristics /personality) (Genesis 1:26a) (Have three signs - Father; Son; Holy Spirit, to represent the Triune God found in Visual Aid Manual)

c. Teach the Lesson MAN’S FIRST BIRTH

SKIT: Get three volunteers to stand in a row, holding a rope. As the Bible verse is read place a sign SPIRIT around the neck of the first child, middle child with a sign SOUL and the last child with a sign BODY. Spirit holds a balloon.

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, (BODY place sign around neck) and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; (SPIRIT blow up balloon) and man became a living being (SOUL place sign around the neck of the middle child). ” (Genesis 2:7)

At this stage the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day and had fellowship (Take the hand of SPIRIT child and walk, SOUL follows holding onto the rope, and BODY is willing to walk holding the rope as well.) Harmony and unity, fellowship with God in a beautiful garden.

CREATION OF WOMAN
The Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
(Genesis 2:21-23)

NUGGETTS:
We were created in the image of the Triune God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) we are triune creatures we are Spirit, Soul and body.
We were created perfect, because God is perfect
We were created to be in relationship with God because we are Spirit and need relationship with a Spirit God.

CLOSING PRAYER: Heavenly Father God of creation, forgive our moments of ingratitude from appreciating the wonder that is this world, the endless cycle of nature, of life and death and rebirth.
Forgive us for taking without giving, reaping without sowing.
Open our eyes to see, our lips to praise and our hands to share.
May our feet tread lightly on the path we tread and our footsteps be worthy of following, for they lead to you.
