gift from Rochelle a member of Western Light where Syndie
is sponsored
The party was a partnership between United
Caribbean Trust and Restoration Ministries Haiti. It was the
conclusion of months of hard work as hundreds of children
in Schools around Barbados packed shoe boxes for the Make
Jesus Smile project.
Seen here receiving her Easter Make
Jesus Smile shoebox, sent to her from the children of
Barbados.
Here's what your sponsorship provides
for this little girl:
The wonderful feeling of being loved by a Christian
friend that he or she has not met, but who cares enough to be
a sponsor.
The opportunity to attend pre school. Only 15%
of the children in rural Haiti attend school, and fewer than 25%
of adult Haitians are literate.
The first 1/3rd of the fees will go to the Primary
school to cover school fees, uniform, shoes etc.
The next 1/3rd will be invested into a Family
Empowerment Programme enabling the rural family to
purchase livestocks such as goats, chickens, pigs or a cow. For
the urban family the opportunity for sewing machines, trading
and other business opportunities will open for them to enable
them to be self sufficient. US $30 will be invested into a BioSand
Water Filter to provide clean water per household.
The last 1/3rd will go towards funding the After
School Club which is being established at the local
Restoration Ministries Haiti church in Morne Oge. This will include
an afternoon feeding programme and a child educational, character
building evangelical teaching programm
