The After School Club, will be held Monday to Friday between 3
– 6 pm . There will be a variety of children's educational
and empowerment activities and will cater to children 0 –
12 years of age. The children will be provided with school-readiness
activities, instilled with positive attitude skills, and are equipped
with resources to nurture socially acceptable behaviors as well
as strong emotional and cognitive development through Bible stories,
music, dance, song, drama, and cooperate family projects. The children
will also be challenged to strive for academic excellence using
various incentives and inspirational activities.
• After-School Tutoring and Homework Help
Teachers from within our members will be recruited to assist the
children of Friendship with additional tutoring and help with homework.
In addition, parents will be encouraged to actively support all
the programs by volunteering their time, providing transportation,
and serving as mentors and tutors.
• Early Childhood Music Center
Studies have shown that music study enhances brain function in
very young children. One of the greatest benefits is academic enhancement,
especially in the three areas that contribute to healthy lifestyles:
reading, math and science.
Reasoning skills, being able to think through a problem and solve
it, engineering skills and even college entrance exam scores are
affected by preschool music lessons.
United Caribbean Trust partnering with Perfect Praise Inc has a
life-changing program that works! Our very successful Early Childhood
Music® After School Club program is fun and exciting...from
prenatal to seven years. The program is fast-paced, fun, developmentally
structured and age-specific.
• Character First
A community-wide character program should provide tools to saturate
a whole community, from the classroom to the workplace. This approach
reinforces parental involvement and ensures character education
in the classroom harmonizes with character education in the family
and community
The Character First! Education program and curriculum enables participants
to enhance the effectiveness of education, help persons understand
the role of character in their success, and provide resources and
tools for trainers and participants to use as they develop a culture
of good character in the community.
A pilot project has been started at the Lawrence T Gay school and
United Caribbean Trust is committed to promoting this program not
only in schools but within communities and is excited at the opportunity
that this community impact project offers.
