Min Kemba Lucas

Prophetess Kemba Jarena LucasProphetess Kemba Jarena Lucas is the first child born from the union of The Revs. Drs. Frederick and Barbara Lucas. Kemba Jarena is a name that speaks to the call upon Prophetess Lucas' life. "Kemba" is a Bantu name, which means "faithful". "Jarena" serves as a namesake of Mrs. Jarena Lee, the first woman ordained to preach in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Kemba Jarena "grew up" in church and was raised to be clear that the only thing that will keep you is your one-on-one relationship with God! As the Pastors' daughter, she was extensively involved in the ministry of the church. However, it was during her father's pastorate at Bridge Street AME Church in Brooklyn, New York that God began a Divine and Perfect Work within her. At the age of 11, God began calling her name. Kemba Jarena would constantly run to her mother asking, "Ma, did you call me?" After many trips up and down the stairs to her parents' bedroom, her mother realized that she wasn't just avoiding bedtime. Therefore, "mommy" instructed her to the lives of Samuel and Eli. Her words were, "Kemba, say Yes Lord, Speak!" And so she did. After her 12th birthday, while singing to the Lord in bed, she took hold of her Salvation and shoes charred in the Gospel. In May 1994, at the age of 18, Kemba Jarena Lucas preached her sermon for itinerant ministry entitled, "When God's Control Puts You On Hold!" and Prophetess Kemba Jarena Lucas continued her ministry journey already begun prior to her Rites of Passage celebrating her 16th birthday. Her initial sermon would prove to be the very means by which God would speak, move and instruct her in life. While at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, Prophetess Lucas was on the ministerial staffs of Bridge Street AME Church (Brooklyn, New York), Big Bethel AME Church (Atlanta, GA) and Turner Chapel AME Church (Atlanta, GA).

In 1998, after deciding, For God I'll live and for God I'll die in spite of it ALL, Prophetess Lucas birthed Daughters of Destiny International (DOD). The Mission of Daughters of Destiny International is to teach and fully equip God's Commissioned Daughters (ages 2-39) for effective Christian Mission as they fulfill their respective Divine Destiny and assist their home church and/or ministry. God's Mandate to Prophetess Lucas was-Go get my daughters (wherever and whomever) and teach them that I need them NOW to walk in their Destiny and the Destiny for the Body of Christ. Currently, Daughters of Destiny has established five (5) fully functional Chapters (inclusive of Greater New York, Bermuda and Greater Massachusetts) and over ten (10) Ministry Sites, sponsors bimonthly national and international Conferences/Crusades, oversees twelve (12) Ministry Components, publishes a monthly Virtual Magazine and Website while ushering thousands of young women and their families to God annually. Prophetess Lucas has traveled extensively throughout Africa, the Bahamian Islands, Bermuda, China and the United States as a Workshop Facilitator, Women's/Girl-Child Issues Speaker, Trainer/Developer and Preacher/Teacher. In addition, she has received numerous awards for her contributions to the Body of Christ and her Community Initiatives, which are collaborations of both Daughters of Destiny International and her firm, Two Jarenas Designing Firm. Her academic achievements and ministerial contributions have been recognized as the "cutting-edge ministry needed in this millennium".

Prophetess Lucas has earned a B.A. (African American History and Women's Studies), M.P.P., and a L.MM/JD while matriculating at Spelman College and Harvard University (Extension, Kennedy School of Government and Law Schools).

Prophetess Lucas is a member of World Changers Church International (WCCI) under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Creflo and Min. Taffi Dollar in Atlanta, GA. While residing in New York City, she serves in ministry at Agape Tabernacle International Fellowship under the apostleship of her mother, Rev. Dr. Barbara Austin Lucas, in Brooklyn, New York. She can be heard weekly as a co-moderator and/or guest on the weekly radio broadcast, "Bridge Over Troubled Waters"--the radio ministry moderated by Rev. Dr. Barbara Austin Lucas. (Sundays, 4 PM on WWRL-1600 AM).

God's Prophetess, Kemba Jarena Lucas, stands to minister wherever God leads and to speak whatever the Lord says speak "so that the Lord might be with her and none of her words might fall to the ground".
(I Samuel 3:19)
