Tanzania - Educate a child

	Dreadful news has just arrived from Tanzania Pastor Lotie has informed us that Pauline is in grave danger and we are appealing for your help in finding a sponsor for this young lady. Read below an email that was sent to United Caribbean Trust on October 3rd 2006

Shalom,

Pastor Lotie writes "It it is so disappointing to learn that Paulina is no longer in my home in Tunduma, even the sewing machine which the late my mother bought for her she has left it the home. The reason behind this is her relatives came and took her because they discovered that my mother is dead. What surprise me is these are the same people who tortured her to the point that my mother took her as her daughter.

Now am hearing that her family want her to be married they are doing this because they want to make money out of her since the man who is to marry her will pay three cows, two blankets and some money which they will share.

But Paulina assured me that she will not accept this, she will tell them that she wants to go to school, so the situation is so distressing. I want to return to Tunduma and help her but I feel like it is impossible at the moment. How can I speak with her relatives who are so hungry for money that they are ready to let a young girl of this age go to be married just because of money.

My suggestion is when we have found a sponsorship for her then that would be the good time to go and rescue her, what I will do is to go with the forms from the school which she will attend then her relatives will not have reason to refuse."
