TEEN CHALLENGE - Staff / Student Library and Computer Laboratory

The staff / student laboratory is a strategic initiative developed out of 2 ½ years of research focusing on deviant behavior and low self esteem.
Teen Challenge proposes to establish this initiative to accomplish the following objectives.

FOR STUDENTS

(1) To maximize the efforts and methods of training for our students
(2) To enhance the presentation of the course material taught, making learning interesting and effective (attention-grabbing techniques)
(3) To create an environment of positive and progressive lifestyles
(4) To research projects, and finishing homework
(5) To learn computer skills and literacy
(6) To present student projects and discussions.
(7) To discover and / or rediscover reading as a pivotal source of information, learning and leisure.

FOR STAFF

(1) To keep abreast of trends and best practices in their specified fields.
(2) To research class topics and curriculum as well as to make informed and effective presentations.
(3) To keep abreast of best practices with online refresher courses as well as become current in the field of Addiction Studies.
(4) To enable staff to be qualified and credentialed with recognized bodies.
(5) To allow staff to be introduced to new methods of teaching and learning.
(6) To have a wealth of information to bring vigor and vitality to the classroom.
The estimated cost of starting up this project is $55,000.00 BBD dollars.
