TEEN CHALLENGE
- Personal studies for new Christians
CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Here is a brief overview of some of the materials included in the PSNC
curriculum.
• • Bible Lessons
These lessons present the plan of salvation, explore who is God, and examine
the basics on what is required for Christian living.
• • Character Qualities Class
Activities for 49 character qualities are designed to build these qualities
into your daily living. This course uses character quality definitions
from the Institute in Basic Youth Conflicts.
• • Bible Reading Class
This course is designed to help you do more than memorize Bible verses.
Learning activities and special projects help you apply the scriptural
truths in your daily experiences.
• • Personal Reading Class
How can you choose good Christian literature that will really help you
grow spiritually? How do you read a book to get worthwhile help? The Personal
Reading Class attempts to guide you into meaningful reading experiences.
This course provides structured learning activities for reading Christian
literature or listening to tapes.
• • Scripture Memorization Class
With this course the students learn to develop good Bible reading habits.
Several special activities are described which can be used to bring variety
to one’s Bible reading.
• • Special Projects
These focus on particular needs or special areas of interest to new Christians.
Some projects are specifically designed to help students apply particular
Biblical truths in their daily experiences. Here are the titles of some
of the special projects: Go See the Judge, Showing Respect, Enthusiasm,
Biography of My Family, My Life of Work, Forgiving Others.
• • Sunday Sermon Personalization Class
The main purpose of this class is to help Christians learn how to get
practical help from sermons. The course provides a simple form for taking
notes on the sermon. The remaining parts of this course can either be
done individually or as part of a discussion group. The first step in
the follow up class is to review the key points of the sermon and go over
the most helpful thing you learned from it. Then you choose one personal
application idea and set a goal for the week on how you will use what
you learned from this sermon. Near the end of the week you evaluate the
progress you made in completing your goal.
