SHARING UPON RETURN

Plan ahead. On your return home, as a group and as an individual, you will want to plan ways to share the events that took place and what the Lord accomplished in and through you.

Those who have supported you will want to know that they did not do it in vain. It will help those people feel secure and good about being a part of what you have done. It will also help future missions groups or individuals who will be looking for a support base by giving missions credibility.

We are trusting that you will have fallen in love with Haiti and especially the children. United Caribbean Trust is pleased to be working in association with Restoration Ministries Haiti (RMH) on the Haiti Child Sponsorship Programme.

By sharing with your local church and youth group we believe that we can get many children sponsored and you can help give a child an education and a future with hope.

This can make a difference for eternity in a child's life.

What will your US $30 per month achieve?

The money will be divided into 3 modules

  1. The first 1/3rd of the fees will go to the school to cover school fees, uniform, shoes, books and pencils etc. Complying with one of the Millennium Development Goals - To ensure that all boys and girls complete a full course of primary schooling
  2. The next 1/3rd will be invested into a Family Empowerment Programme enabling the family to purchase livestock such as goats, chickens, pigs or a cow. US $30 will be invested into a BioSand Water Filter to provide clean water per household.
  3. The last 1/3rd will go towards funding the After School Club which is being established at the local Restoration Ministries Haiti church in Morne Oge and in the Salvation Army church hall in Jacmel. This will include an afternoon feeding programme and a child educational, character building evangelical teaching programme.

 

Teams going up to Haiti will be encouraged to take some of the Make Jesus Smile shoe boxes packed by the children of Barbados.

These boxes are used to introduce the Child Sponsorship Program. As the child receives the box and is photographed, information is obtained and a web page is created for that child and the potential is establised to be sponsored and have a life changing experience.
