focus. The group comprises of young men and ladies from various
assemblies of across Barbados such as P.A.W.I, Nazarene, Christian
Mission, Wesleyan, and Restoration
Ministries. The face of the group changes on each missionary
trip, as some may not be able to go at certain times also too, newer
members are coming aboard.
The group also has a strong worship focus, as we have skilled musicians
and vocalist. There is versatility and diversity within the group
as there is ministry in dancing/choreography, drama, technicians,

Featuring ‘Blood Wash’

Island Impact was officially launched last year October 15th, at
UWI Cave Hill; however, its roots can be traced back in 1991, when
a team of young people from churches of P.A.W.I went on a missions
trip to Bequia. Over the
years a core group was maintained while traveling on various trips
thus, a decision was made to broaden the horizons and focus.
At present IIOM is preparing to go to St.
Vincent from July 22nd to August 8th. We will be joined by contingents
from Trinidad, St. Vincent, and Grenada, as we welcome new members
who felt the call to be a part of the ministry, as a result of being
impacted by our ministry to them. Hence, our goal of impacting the
Caribbean is coming alive as we prepare a missions force from the
Caribbean to impact the region and beyond.
IIOM seeks to work along with local assemblies, doing ministry in
their local communities and help to empower the believers at the
local assemblies to strive for excellence in their own ministries
and to position themselves where God can use them in mighty ways.
Our last trip was in Grenada
in March this year. We were based in Marquis, at the Marquis Pentecostal
Church, with host Pastor- John Mark. The trip was a blessed one
as the people there expressed their gratitude, due to our ministry
in the various services and in the community. The church and some
houses of members received some repairs due to damages done by the
hurricanes. There was also ministry at various other churches and
at the Grenville Secondary School.
Next year is projected to take us to Canada; however, we are still
listening to the voice of God as He leads us where He wants us.
(Quote: It is not a desirous
thing to be where God was; we should be where God is)
