Kathleen from Nashville Metro Ministry in Haiti Christmas 2005

The Summer of 2005 was when I finally jumped head first into full time
music ministry. My schedule was full with singing the Gospel and leading
His saints in Worship all across the U.S. Little did I know what was planed for me just a few months away. God had it prepared that my husband and I would be sent to a Country that we did not know much about or even speak the language.

Haiti was truly a mission I will never forget. The images are pressed in my mind and the people in my heart. Once getting off the plane in Haiti, the first thing we saw was the beauty of the land, tall palm trees and towering mountains in the distance surrounding the airport... it was truly a sight to behold.

We took the bus for a five-hour ride to the city of Jacmel. It was in a community there that we served and ministered through visitations, church services, youth conferences, distributing food and toys for the children, and of course one on one relationship building.

We did our best to overcome the language barrier and had Pastor Lafleur there to help us translateand communicate.

However, one thing I learned quickly, was that the greatest language of
all is love.

The poverty there was overwhelming. Basic necessities like electricity, toilets and running water were non-existent in most areas.

But the smiles of the people were so bright.

We must pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Haiti.

There is great spiritual warfare and lots of Voodoo. Even just behind the church building that we were ministering at, was a Voodoo temple.

However, the power of God moved strong and we saw souls come to Christ!

Praise Jesus!
