- Haiti tent city Evangelism
Following the January 2010 Haiti
earthquake millions of
people in Haiti are still living in tents all around Port
au Prince and scattered over the hills that surround the now
destroyed capital city of Haiti.
One such tent city is located
on the outskirts of Bon Repos and United Caribbean Trust has
been drawn to help this tent city, many of the occupants relocated
from City Soleil.
This tent city is called Cannan!
Equipping
Ministries International's founder Don Warren in his
last trip to Haiti built a toilet on a plot of land allocated
for the children's evangelism. Praise God.
There is a small wooded shack which is on
the land that is used by the Red Cross as a clinic.
UCT has assisted in erecting a
small shelter which we are believing will be used as a children's
camp on Saturday and children's church of Sunday. Various churches
have agreed to come and minister to these children. Pastor Nicholas
from United Children's
Mission is already trained in
Kids EE and has agreed to give assistance.
One Saturday the team visited
the tent city and were able to meet the children and share
the Good News.
There is a resident school teacher
that has volunteered to help teach the children and it would
be wonderful to get some funding to start a small school there
in our shelter.
