Pastor Elton Nyasulu's testimony

As a family we are glad to participate in the great and vast mission of our Lord Jesus Christ. In all the days we have been working for him, we have witnessed his faithfulness in providing for us and confirming his word with signs and wonders.

In many times we have been desperate, hunger strikens, honted by the tough poverty situations of Africa where by you even fail to meet things, which are basic in life. But in all these situations the king of glory gave us the spirit of patience and perseverance

As we work for the Lord in different tribes in Malawi we have seen the Lord’s Spirit working with us in a special way. The Lord reviving weak churches and helped us to plant new churches in areas, which are reachable and unreachable. Below are the places that we have been and ministered under Assemblies of God Church.

Chitimba Church Among the Tumbuka Tribe.

In 1998 when I started my Bible School at Assemblies of God School of Theology. I was posted to Chitimba, a place along Lake Malawi.

I found the Church congregating in class since it started.

But by the Lord's grace we were given a land where to build our church and in the year 2000 we built the church.

While I was at Chitimba we started praying and fasting seriously for the church and souls to come to Jesus. We were moving door to door and preaching on the open airs. Also we conducted Revival Crusades in the area.

People started joining us miracles and wonders started to happen. People started to be delivered from demons. For example there was a certain woman who wanted to hung herself because she had disputes in her family when one of our members learnt about it. She came with her to where we were staying.

We taught her the word of God and prayed for her. As we were praying she started crying bitterly and demons started getting out. She fell down as if she was dead. As we continued praying for her demons started to confess that we have left. And she accepted Jesus that very same day and went home happily.

While at Chitimbe I was also caring for Livingstonia Branch which was up off shore a journey of Two and half hours traveling on foot and some other branches like Mchenga, Chiweta, Mlowe and New Salawe which was very far south.

All this branches we started and they are still standing, people are there congregating, but the most challenging one which I will never forget was New Salawe.

This place was very far, huge rocks impassable with cars, bicycles because there was no road at all. The only way was to go by the Lake using boats or ship.

For someone to find a boat it was not easily and with the poverty stand we were in, footing was the only way. Ship went to this place once a week that is Illala. And also we were moving for hours after dropping at Tchalo before New Salawe.

At this place there was a women who was once our member at Phwezi Church and her husband passed away.

Her husband was taken to be buried at New Salawe which was their home. She kept on calling for people to help her starting a church there. When I heard about this I was moved in my heart and started sharing with other people to help us to open a church there. All people agreed but later on, they started shunning away.

I made my mind to go on, no matter what. When I started off at Chitimba in the evening and slept at Chombe. At chombe I picked a certain brother to be with me, but the rest gave excuses.

We started off at 5:00 O’clock (A.M) in the morning at Chombe footing. We had no chance to find a boat or ship. We footed for seven hours to Zunga where we saw a boat, but they said we are not progressing we are returning back. Therefore we kept on moving until we reached at Old Salawe around 2:00 p.m. where someone had pity on us and cooked food for us to eat. From there we moved until we reached 8:00 p.m. that was at night. We were extremely tired. When they prepared food for us I wanted even to vomit, but later after some hours its when the food was eaten well.

The following morning we started the crusade. Many people were saved, spirit baptized, for the first time with the evidence of speaking with other tongues. Some people who were sick for some time were healed. There was great revival. Other people when were praying they were laughing at us but during the very session all of them who were laughing and even all that were in the room started praying in tongues jumping, rejoicing to the Lord. One girl spoke in tongues drunk in spirit for two days.

After this the church started us we were there for two weeks, but also persecution started.

Many children were being chassed in their homes and were told not to gather with us.

But thank God now the church is built right there.

All at Chitmba and Livingstonia Nominal Christians became born again and started prayers in their respective homes.

Mpherembe Church Among the Ngoni Tribe.

When I was finishing my Diploma in Bible and Ministerial Studies at Assemblies of God School of Theology, I was asked by the Missions department to start take care for the church that was to be planted at Mpherembe.

When I accepted the church started in 2001 and they were supporting me as I was serving the Lord there monthly with 2,000 MK, which is almost equivalent to 13.3 US$

(1Dollar = 150 MK).

In this very year 2001, 1st December it is when we wedded with Nollar.

The Lord started with us majestically and we had many testimonies although we encountered some difficulties as well.

When we just started being together the devil attacked us, Nollar’s clothes caught fire and she got burnt.

Many people came to our assistance and rushed with her to the hospital. At this time she was one month pregnant. After she started to get well for a month she miscarried and went back in the Hospital. When she was back we continued serving the Lord.

Revival in Mpherembe Area
As a family we started praying and fasting for the church and the entire area of Mpherembe. Other days we could go to the mountain with the whole church.

The Lord started confirming his word with miracles and wonders. We witness two mad people being delivered and they became part and parcel of the church. Some being healed and delivered from demons. People started to be filled with the Holy Spirit and some started prophesying.

Near Mpherembe at Kabwafu I found Pastor Isaac Mhango whom we started working hand in hand. Now we were only two pastors taking care of five churches and planted extra four churches in this area. All these churches were far a part. In some other areas we delegated some other leaders to help us.

One day as we were praying together as families I had the confirmation on my heart to conduct revivals in each church. Pastor Mhango and his family agreed and we agreed to teach these dying churches on the following:

The holy spirit so that people must be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Leadership and Administration.
In all the church the Lord heard us. We were starting off on bicycles with our wives on Thursday through Sunday.

During the day we were teaching and in the evening Revival to pray for people to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Many people were filled with the Holy spirit and some of them were prophesying.

After moving in all these churches we saw the Lord at work and it was the turning point for the whole area.

The Lord raised more Pastors and now we have got seven pastors in that very area. The work is growing greatly. The Lord glorified himself in many things. There are many testimonies that happened.

Unit 6 Church Among Chewa Tribe
In 2006 December I was called to be at Chinsapo Assemblies of God for eight months as an Associate Pastor and after this I was given Unit 6, which is the village not very far from Chinsapo.

When I was sent at this church we found that there were less than twenty people.

Many of them backslid because of leadership problems. There was not activities that could encourage people to stand in the Lord.

At present we conduct open airs, prayers and fasting, seminars and serious follow-ups.

By the Lords Mercies many people are returning back and the number is growing. The Lord is anointing people in the Holy Spirit and some are being demon delivered every Sunday. People are devoting themselves in prayers and spiritual thirst for the word.

We trust the Lord that at the end of this season we will witness many things.

Challenges that we face

Church building project, which we have started by faith of which we believe we are going to finish by the end of this season.
Pastors house is not there and some other facilities.
Transportation it's a problem at present of which we believe the Lord will open away.
We are looking forward for further education so that we can be self-supportive, financially the situation is tough, but it will not make us stay away from fulfilling the great commission.
God's guidance and his ability that we should help even other churches that need our help. More prayers are needed.
Our great desire is to see that people are saved and come to know and understand Jesus better. We want to make sure that people live life in its fullness.

We thank God for all our partners in God's mission and all well wishes. Keep on praying for us and supporting us as we walk together towards accomplishing the great commission of our Lord Jesus.
