Haiti Cholera Campaign
2010
 |
The outbreak of cholera in Haiti
erupted in the Artibonite River valley in central Haiti in
mid-October and initially seemed to have been contained, but
the toll from the chronic diarrheal disease has since soared
to over 643 dead with around 10,000 people being treated in
hospital. |
"If cholera cases continue to rise at this
rate, we'll quickly be overwhelmed," warned Yves Lambert,
head of infectious diseases at the main public hospital in downtown
Port-au-Prince.
UCT is committed to supplying
hundreds of Sawyer PointOne
water filters to schools and churches within the Port
au Prince and St. Marc area, our team in Haiti are on standby
as the filters are rushed to Haiti.
Thanks to the generosity of the Barbadian
public we will be able to save thousands of lives.
Seen here some of the residence of Cite
Soleil receiving their filters immediately after the earthquake. |

on this mission trip to YWAM! It resulted in hundreds of children
receiving Make Jesus Smile shoeboxes.
This was the beginning of the Guyana arm of
this ministry and UCT looks forward to taking the shoeboxes
