UCT
is deeply burdened by the URGENT need for a
‘Christian faith-based Caribbean Disaster Mitigation Programme’;
to be introduced through schools, youth groups, local churches,
women’s organizations and community leaders. This programme
needs to be complimented by ‘Street Evangelical Outreach Training’
so that ‘Mission Teams’ can follow up relief supplies
in areas throughout the Caribbean affected by local disasters. For
this to be successful UCT needs some large Christian corporate companies
and International churches to put some major sponsorship behind
this effort.
These times we live in are challenging to the status
quo and traditions as we know it. Change is unsettling; change is
difficult. When things change most of us are uncomfortable and anxious.
Still, the one constant in the universe is change.
The
disasters that have affected the Caribbean including Guyana have
turned our world upside down. The course of our lives is being dramatically
altered. As our troubles multiply so too at times do our opportunities.
Every astute business person knows that the winds of change also
bring opportunity. It's our state-of-mind and strength of spirit
that determines whether we can take advantage of those opportunities.
The Caribbean is at the stage
in its development where massive changes are taking place. Great
things are always birthed in pain and sometimes chaos. The chaos
that resulted from the devastation of hurricane Ivan has opened
numerous opportunities for God’s business and United Caribbean
Trust (UCT) is poised to take full advantage of this
UCT
is committed to uniting the Caribbean through faith, sports, travel
and music. UCT's base operation at Cassada Bay on Carriacou (left)
has provided solace, respite and storage for the next year. The
base has been donated free of charge for one year and the possibilities
are endless.
