A delegation comprising some 50 private sector businessmen hailing from the Peoples Republic of China arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday afternoon in an initiative to encourage investment opportunities in Barbados.
Particular attention will be given to possible investment opportunities in the agriculture, tourism and cruise industries in the specific areas of technology and trade, with meetings scheduled to take place between members of the delegation and officials from the respective ministries.

Throughout the duration of their five day visit the Chinese delegation will also tour the Barbados Port, the Harbour and Newton Industrial Parks and the Grantley Adams International Airport, as well as participate in a business forum with Barbadian counterparts to be held at the Sherbourne Conference Centre.

Todays forum will facilitate discussions on the respective business practices of both Barbados and China.

Vice Chair of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Yu Ping will also pay a courtesy call on Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Kerrie Symmonds today.
