In 2004, the Methodist Conference agreed the following Priorities for the Methodist Church:

To proclaim and affirm its conviction of God’s love in Christ, for us and for all the world; and renew confidence in God’s presence and action in the world and in the Church.

"Mission is the participation of Christians in the liberating mission of Jesus. It is the good news of God’s love, incarnated in the witness of a community for the sake of the world."
