The Grenada
Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is a government statutory body
established by an Act of Parliment on February 27, 1985, the GIDC is the
industrial development agency of the Government of Grenada charged with
special responsibility to stimulate , facilitate and undertake the development
of industries.
GIDC vision is one of full employment in the state of
Grenada. Its mission is to stimulate and facilitate private sector domestic
and foreign investment activities for the purpose of creating jobs through
the promotion of investment opportunities, rendering professional investor
services, nurturing existing investors, and encourging re- investment
and expansion. In this regard the Corporation seeks to provide high quality
, fast efficient and reliable services to investors and deliver cost effective
economic benefits in the form of job opportunities and capital formation.
The GIDC is engaged in the following :-
· Promotes the merits of Grenada as an investment
location
· Identifies investment opportunities
· Facilitates the investment process
· Provides aftercare services to established businesses
The services provided:-
· Facilitating initial investor/prospect inquiry
· Coordination of initial visits to Grenada to
explore the viability of proposed projects
· Assistance with site selection and development,
employee recruitment and training
· Assistance with arranging joint venture partnerships
between Grenadian nationals and foreign investors
· Assistance with the preparation and completion
of all documents and forms, including application for fiscal incentives,
work permits, trade licenses etc.
