trust ![]() UNITED CARIBBEAN TRUST- A United Caribbean Trust (UCT) fund was created to oversee the disbursement of donated funds to the islands of the Caribbean and the lands of the Americas. UCT are currently partnered with several local and regional NGO’s, the Caribbean Development Trust in London and a number of local and regional churches in a bid to assist with reconstruction efforts. Partnering with the Baby Survival Kit Foundation went a small way towards alleviating the stress of some mothers with young babies following the disaster. Subsequently, we continue our research in Guyana, Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique, in hope that lessons learned will assist in informing a revised regional policy on Disaster Mitigation, Management and Reconstruction. The socio-economic setback to these islands, as a result of the weather event’s destruction of over 90% of the homes and businesses, will take time and money to heal and repair.
The Caribbean is at the stage in its development where massive changes are taking place. Great things are always birthed in pain and sometimes chaos. The chaos that resulted from the devastation of hurricane Ivan has opened numerous opportunities for God’s business and United Caribbean Trust (UCT) is poised to take full advantage of this |

UCT needs to have base headquarters in various islands throughout the Caribbean and these bases need to follow the same template as our Carriacou base. This is an ambitious venture but with management, marketing and promotion these base headquarters could be used as Christian holiday resorts and retreats outside of the hurricane season and thus fund the trust. A tremendous business opportunity awaits as the disasters within the Caribbean creates new niche markets in the arena of ‘working holidays’ and youth outreach during the hurricane season and the possibility of Christian Time Share and Christian Conference Tourism the remainder of the year. The Spiritual revival that is emerging before our eyes creates the wonderful opportunity for Christian Conference holidays and it is our vision to see the islands of the Caribbean become theCaribbean Christian Holiday destination of choice.
United Caribbean facilitators, whose pilot operation is based at Cassada Bay on Carriacou, have met with stakeholders in the Tri-Island State of Grenada, London and Barbados and launched a series of initiatives aimed at supporting the Government agencies responsible for the reconstruction and redevelopment of Grenada. The Government of Grenada have requested the Trust’s continued efforts. United Caribbean Trust formally launched the ‘Tithe Ten Club’ in Bermuda, with the opening of the Trust’s bank account.
From small beginning...the ‘Tithe Ten Club’ has emerged, encourages donors to pledge a tithe of 10 per month of which ever currency they operate in, US $, Barbados $, Bermudan $, Pound Sterling or Euro, thus the top banner was created. Internet and e-comm erse databases are currently under construction to facilitate international donor-friendly pledging online. United Caribbean Trust is currently seeking International funding so as to continue the organization’s humanitarian programmes Partnering with the London based, Caribbean Development Trust. It was a pleasure to meet in London with their Chairman, Dr Johnson, who is optimistic that their diverse organisation can forge a serious and formidable bond with United Caribbean Trust in the delivery of much needed resources for the Caribbean. The U.C team will be instrumental in compiling a data base of small businesses and micro-enterprises in Grenada for the Caribbean Development Trust, so as to provide mentoring and guidance to this sector, which employs an approximate 55% of the island’s work force.
