The World Travel Market provides an opportunity to promote Carriacou as an alternative tourism destination to those who were planning to travel to Grenada and inform the public of the hotels that are available for rental in Grenada.

Caribzones Barbados Ltd has for years promoted tourism throughout the Caribbean. Great emphasis has been placed on the concept of twin island destinations with Barbados/Carriacou as one of the initial duos promoted.

	Last year’s event attracted more than 5 000 exhibiting companies spread over 36 850 square metres of space and drew almost 44 000 visitors, exhibiting personnel and international media.
Over 30 Caribbean destinations, including scores of private sector representatives, will exhibit Caribbean culture, art, food and music at WTM, which has attracted a record 189 countries last year.

	Caribbean Village, created over 25 years ago with the support of the European Union, features brightly coloured stands designed like chattel houses which surround a central area where people discuss and do business. And of course there is a Caribbean Meeting Point where the destinations entertain their guests with Caribbean cuisine and refreshments.

Both the directors of Caribzones have attended the WTM in the last two years.

The 2004 Test Match is history notable for England's win and Lara's world record and the Cricket World Cup 2007 is already the focus of the region. The West Indies both as team and region plan to host the best cricket event ever seen.

On a more local level, the recently held ' Cricket Festival' is the initiative of the Carriacou United Cricket Team. The event is envisaged as taking place throughout the Caribbean.

The Festival will focus on education, culture, cricket and fun!
