"Holy Spirit Encounter"

FOREWORD It was the 13th June, 1997. Our Church was in a transitional phase. Services were held under a large blue and white tent, as we were acquiring some property. I vividly remember this Friday night service as being totally awesome! There was such a sweet, infilling of the Holy Spirit. It was so significant, that it made you feel as though You would have remained in that moment of time forever!

Earlier that week, on 10th June, 1997, the Holy Spirit had instructed me to "pray for my job". I did pray, not sure why I was being prompted this way. Then, on 13th June, the Holy Spirit graced me with such a wonderful experience of His Presence. I later learned that this experience was not just to feel good, but God was preparing me for what was ahead! On Saturday, 14th June, 1997, the building in which we operated our family business caught fire. The fire completely destroyed several nearby buildings and businesses. However, our business only received a small amount of damage. The office in which I worked was burned. My desk and chair lay in the mangled debris of black ashes! God was totally awesome! My uncle had arrived for work early, and had seen some smoke in our office. He immediately called the fire station. He was able to remove all the necessary Company books before the office was completely engulfed in flames! No wonder, Holy Spirit had me praying for my job!

Over the years, I have learned about the Faithfulness of God. We just need to keep in tune with Him on a daily basis. He knows our needs. He knows what is ahead of us! He is the one who will help us through life's challenges. We must put our trust completely in Him. I hope that you, too, will have many Holy Spirit Encounters in your life!

Lord,
I seek a Holy Spirit encounter.
I seek a deeper
and higher revelation
of You.

When Jesus was baptised
“the Holy Spirit descended on him
in bodily form like a dove.” (Luke 3:22 NIV)

“Your path led through the sea,
your way through mighty waters
though your footprints were not seen.” (Psa. 77:19 NIV)

God knows the pain
of betrayal.
How can your closest friend
suddenly become your enemy?
It is so hard to understand,
and painful to bear.
Yet, God knows this pain.

There was a famine
in the land of Canaan
and Egypt.
It was very severe,
and there was no food.

What is compromise?

It is choosing someone
or something over God.
It is out of God’s Will,
which He has made known
to us personally.

God uses visions and dreams
to give us guidance.
Some visions or dreams bring revelation
on circumstances in your life.
God is explaining what
you need to know.

Lord,
I have sinned against You.
I have sinned because
I have been discontented.
I have been grumbling
and complaining,
instead of being thankful
of all You have done in my life.

Lord,
all week I have revelled
in Your Glory!
How You have renewed
my spirit!
I was lagging behind.
My soul was dry
and thirsty.
Parched.

Christianity operates on two levels –
on a spiritual plane,
and in the natural plane.
Spirituality and practicality
must be balanced!

Jonathan is the Pastor’s son.
God has given him
a wonderful voice to sing.
At age fourteen,
he ministers with a great anointing.

Lord,
I have allowed myself
to become discouraged
in my Christian Walk.
I have spoken too many
negative confessions.

Lord,
thank You for visiting with us
last night!
You moved quietly,
silently, almost unobtrusively
upon us.

“For though we live in the world,
we do not rage war
as the world does.
The weapons we fight with
are not the weapons
of the world.
